INTRODUCTION: We continue our Lesson 2 with your "Receive the Lord" booklet.  The "Receive the Lord" booklet will help you to prepare to receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time. The booklet will focus on the creation of a first Communion banner as a way for you to understand and remember all the amazing things that you will experience when you receive Jesus in holy Communion. So, if you have located your book, we are ready to go! First start by reading pages 5 and 6 then answer the questions below. HINT: Remember to look in your readings for the answers.
A great way to get ready to receive Jesus in the Eucharist is by receiving the sacrament of ______________________? *
When we come to Mass, the priest greets us by saying "The ______________ be with you!" *
The _______________ ___  ____ ___________ is when we hear the Word of God in readings from the Bible, or Scripture? *
The Bible is not just one book. There are ______ books in the Bible? *
BIBLE CHALLENGE!! Now it's time to challenge yourself on how many books of the Bible you can find in the word search puzzle on page 7 of your "Receive the Lord" booklet. Don't forget to send me a picture of your completed work when you are done! Good luck!
FANTASTIC JOB!!! Now you are ready to continue building your First Communion banner.  On page 7 of your booklet, you are asked to add a Bible to your banner (see my example below). The Bible shows that in our celebration of the Eucharist, Jesus speaks to us in the Bible. Don't forget to send me a picture of your banner as you continue to add more symbols each lesson.
FAMILY TIME CHART: Super job! Now it is time to work on your "Family Time" chart. Our Lesson 2 chart focuses on how your family celebrates and remembers Jesus.  Does your family have some special traditions that you observe at Advent, Christmas, Lent, or Easter? What are some of the traditions that your family has that helps to remind you of Jesus' life, Death, Resurrection and sending of the Holy Spirit. Look at your "Our Community Remembers Jesus" chart and answer the questions and draw pictures of what things you have in your home that reminds you of Jesus. Don't forget to color everything in and send me a picture. I can't wait to see what you draw!!
SUPER GREAT JOB!  You  have finished your second lesson in your sacramental prep journey and are doing a great job!!

I want you to remember that the Eucharist is the center of our lives!  The Sacrament of the Eucharist unites us with Jesus Christ and to one another.

We will continue to learn more about this celebration as we continue our lessons!

Please remember to place your Lesson 2 sticker on page 4 of your lesson to show that you have completed the work!

COMPLETED WORK IMAGES:  As discussed in the Parent Meeting, listed below are the items which need to be photographed and submitted to verify your child's completed work.  Thank you in advance for  your help and support!
