Oxygen is a youth work charity which was established by young people in 1999. It purpose is to identify and respond to the needs of young people in and around Kingston and Richmond to improve their lives.  You can find out about Oxygen here: www.oxygen-online.org

Oxygen has been asked by Achieving for Children to gather feedback from young people who have been affected by crime in the local area.  Young people have helped to construct this survey.  We want to understand young people's experience of any engagement with the Police and the Youth Justice System and seek ways to improve its effectiveness in working to tackle offending, reduce crime and improve safety in the borough.  We are also conducting 1-2-1 interviews and focus groups to gather information.

We are interested in your views and opinion about your experience and ask that you take a few of minutes to respond to some questions.  We want to find out what could be done to improve systems, processes and the experience for young people so that they have better outcomes in the future.  The aim is to provide every opportunity for young people to fulfil their full potential,  despite the mistakes or wrong choices they may have made in the past.

Oxygen is an independent charity. We need some basic information about you to help us understand where we need to focus our efforts and provide context to your view and opinions.   Any personal details will not be shared with the police or local authority.  The exception to this would be if you shared information which suggests you are currently vulnerable and at high risk of harm.  We will present the findings of this survey to our local partners, Achieving for Children who have asked us to gather young people's views.
