I have decided which community/technical college to attend and have applied. I am aware placement tests or scores may be required by the community college. *
College I plan on attending: *
I understand it is my responsibility to be aware of my community college deadlines, JHS holidays and closures, as well as JHS schedule changes, testing days, photo date, senior deadlines, and when counselors are available to complete forms, provide signatures and/or meet with students. *
Credit Transferability:  I understand that not every college/university will accept Running Start community college credits (especially some private and out-of-state colleges). Check with the colleges/universities you want to attend. A better alternative may be to take advanced high school courses instead of community college courses. *
Running Start Enrollment Verification Form (RSEVF)*: The RSEVF must be completed with your JHS Counselor each quarter to attend Running Start courses. You have the option to FILL IN AND SUBMIT IT ELECTRONICALLY to your counselor for signature. This form is located on the JHS Counseling website under the Running Start information page. You can also contact your counselor via phone or email or the Counselor Connection form (available on the counseling webpage). Contact the counseling secretary to make an appointment at 425-385-7010 if you are having difficulty reaching your counselor. If you drop off a form please allow 24-48 hours for signature and pick up.  If you make changes to your JHS or college schedule after the RSEVF has been signed, you must update your counselor regarding these changes. *
You must notify the college and Jackson High School immediately of any intention to drop a class. Failure to notify the college and Jackson when you drop a class may result in you paying the tuition for that class. High school graduation requirements: Refer to the Everett Public Schools “High School/Community College Course Chart” to determine which community college classes meet Jackson High School graduation requirements. You may not continue with the Running Start program senior year if you have completed all graduation requirements at the end of junior year, but if you have not, you may continue in Running Start senior year. (WAC 392-169-020)High school transcript:   When you complete a college class (whether passed or failed), the subject area and grade will appear on your high school transcript (no exceptions). *
I understand that I am not permitted to be on campus at Jackson except while attending Jackson classes.  *
I have reviewed all of the Running Start Program information and have discussed the program with my parent/guardian. *
I understand what is required of me and will complete all required steps with my counselor each quarter to take appropriate classes at the community college. *
