2023 Alaska Angel Investment Founder Survey

The following survey of Alaskan startup founders is investigating your interaction with our angel investors.  Most of the questions focus on ANGEL investments, but some will ask about other sources of funds including grants, prizes, and loans.  Results will be anonymous and confidential. To get a copy of the final report, three will be a separate link at the end to provide your email that will be captured and stored separate from this survey.  If you are a startup founder and ready to get started, scroll down! 

This is a new look to complement the just released 4th annual Angel investor survey. I hope to release the results together at the Innovation Summit on February 28th.  If you are also an investor, you are welcome to complete the Investor Survey.  This information helps the Alaska Investor Network and the startup community's resource providers understand the Alaskan angel investors' activity, interests, and opportunities.  The survey is anonymous, and data will be kept confidential and destroyed 30 days after the report is published.  To receive a copy of the final report, please watch for the link after Submitting to sign up. This step will keep your name and email separate from this survey and its data.  

Alaska Startup Founders Only: This is for Alaska startup founders only, including those actively looking for investment but may not have received a direct investment.  Startups are generally new ventures less than five years old, but if you consider yourself a startup founder, and have been seeking seed or A round financing in the last ten years, please continue.  

Minimum Survey Responses: If a minimum of 10 responses are not received, all data will be deleted and nothing published.  The results will not be published in a way that any individual response or company's activity will be identifiable.   You will have the option at the end to provide your email in a separate form to get notified of the completed report and a copy of the aggregated results. 

Privacy: This is a Google Form. If you are using a browser and logged in to your Google account (shown below if you are logged in), your work will be automatically saved for 30 days on your account but is not shared with Alaska Version 3 (Ky Holland is the PI.) A Google account is NOT required. We are not collecting emails in the survey to help ensure confidentiality of the results. 

Aggregation of Results - We will aggregate results and not provide any identifying information in the reports or data analysis sets. The raw data or any individual responses will not be shared or made public. 

Stop at Any Time - You can stop working on the survey at any time, and none of your information will be recorded until you click the "SUBMIT" button. If you want your submission removed, contact us and we'll try to isolate your response by time stamp and any clues you can provide to your record.

We wan to understand what investments have had a return and what level of return our angels are receiving. In "None" is expected for many, however do include if you paid back a bridge loan or convertible debt note to an angel or angel backed fund (e.g. Launch Alaska Fund I or Fund II, Alaska Investor Network syndicated bridge loan etc. )
