Application for PYRN 2024-2026 Executive Committee
Thank you for your interest in joining the PYRN ExCom! PYRN is an international organization of early-career permafrost scientists and engineers with a goal of fostering international collaboration and supporting future generations of permafrost researchers. If you are a young researcher* working in permafrost or adjacent fields and you are motivated and looking to get involved, please apply. We need motivated, committed people to join our team!

Joining the ExCom means you get the chance to organize events like our early career workshops at international and regional conferences (e.g. ICOP, RCOP, EuCOP) and bring your own ideas about how PYRN should grow and develop. How will PYRN change in the future? How will the workshops at the next permafrost conferences look and what topics will they focus on? How can we better serve our members and help them navigate their careers? So please join us.

The following are criteria for applying:

1. You must be considered a *young researcher, any individual currently enrolled as a post-secondary student or having completed their most recent post-secondary degree within the last six years.

2. You must be committed, organized and consistent in your communication and attendance of PYRN events. ExCom members should expect to commit 5-10 hours of work on PYRN per month. To maintain your status on the ExCom, you must attend 50% of meetings and maintain consistent and responsive email correspondence.
