Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak, Mumbai has instituted the following three awards from 2020. The award is in commemoration of the first ascent of an unnamed peak, 6060 meters in Himachal Pradesh by the team from Smarak under the leadership of Shri. Devendra Gandre on 23rd August 2015.

• Shikhar Savarkar Youth Adventure Award.
• Shikhar Savarkar Durg Sanvardhan Award
• Shikhar Savarkar Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award will be announced /presented on 23rd August 2024, Shikhar Savarkar day. Interested persons are requested to apply in the prescribed form online for Shikhar Savarkar Youth Adventure Award and Shikhar Savarkar Durg Sanvardhan Award so as to reach Smarak on or before 15th August 2024.

Shikhar Savarkar Durg Sanvardhan Award  is instituted in the year 2020 in order to give due recognition to outstanding adventurers team. The award shall consist of a memento and a citation to the team. In addition, Smarak may grant a token cash prize of  Rs 15,000/- by cheque / Bank transfer to the team. The award will be announced / presented  on 23rd August 2024, the Savarkar Shikhar day.

Criteria for the Award:    
Shikhar Savarkar Durg Sanvardhan Award is awarded for exceptional achievements in the field of  preservation, conservation and sustainable tourism of the forts.
 
Who can Apply :
Shikhar Savarkar Durg Sanvardhan Award 2024 will be awarded to organisation which has contributed a lot to the fort conservation and social work through mountaineering as well as the organization conducts workshops for the purpose of preservation, conservation and sustainable tourism of the forts.

Objective:
To recognize and encourage mountaineering organisations which work for  the purpose of preservation, conservation and sustainable tourism of the forts.

Age at the Time of Consideration:  
Age of the incumbent team members should be above 15 years in the year of reckoning. In exceptional circumstances the age may be relaxed.

Cut off Dates for the Award:
Relevant details as per Smarak form for the yearly award should reach Smarak Office by on / offline by 15th August 2024. All achievements till 31st July 2024 should be included in the details. Applications received after 15th August 2024 will not be considered for the Award.

Submission of Names for the Award:
The names for the Award may be forwarded by any individual/ Smarak Member/ Adventure Clubs/ Institutions.

Method of Selection for the Award:  
The details received by Smarak, before the closure date, will be scrutinized by a committee consisting of four members, and Honourable Secretary, to be detailed by the Smarak Chairman. The committee will submit one/ two names for the award from the most outstanding applicants for the approval of the Managing Committee, latest by 15th Aug 2024.
