Date/Time: Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Event Address: Dickinson College's HUB Social Hall (217 N. College Street, accessible entrance on High Street), Carlisle, PA
Details: Participate in a Reentry Simulation that prompts participants to experience what it is like to return to the community after incarceration. The Simulation is divided into four 15-minute segments, representing four weeks (the first month) of someone returning home, and participants are required to complete tasks, within a certain amount of time, by moving among several "stations" that represent necessities that they must complete, such as addressing medical needs, finding a job, accessing transportation, etc. After the Simulation there will be a debrief and discussion about the criminal justice system and the complexities of Reentry. Following the debrief, lunch will be served. The event is free.
Co-sponsored by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern and Middle Districts, the Cumberland County Reentry Coalition, and Dickinson College's Center for Civic Learning & Action
