Wisconsin Bound Dog Rescue Adoption/Foster Application
ADOPTION/FOSTER INFORMATION:

Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog with Wisconsin Bound Dog Rescue (WBDR). Please know that all of our dogs are in temporary care foster homes until adopted.  We do NOT have a facility or location to visit.

The first thing we ask you to do is fill out our adoption application. This does not obligate you to adopt from us, nor does it guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog that you have applied for.  This just gives us your contact information needed to start the adoption process.

ALL of the information is required to process your application. Your application will be considered incomplete if any information is not included and we will move on to the next application to process. PLEASE READ EACH SECTION CAREFULLY.

WBDR requires all companion animals in the home to be spayed or neutered AND up to date on all vaccines. It is a LAW that cats and dogs have their rabies vaccine. We work very hard on our part to help control the pet population and we do not adopt out to families that do not alter their dogs. Please contact us if you have a current pet that is not spayed or neutered due to old age or medical reasons.

As part of our adoption/foster process we do a vet check, call personal references, property verification/landlord check, and a home visit. The purpose of the home visit is to verify what you stated in your application is accurate and to check that the home looks like a safe place for this particular dog. Home visits normally take about 30 minutes depending on questions, etc.

In some situations, you may be approved to adopt but we may not feel that you are the right fit for the dog you have chosen. If this happens, we will explain the reasoning and help you find another dog that is a better fit for everyone involved. This is rare, but does happen. We take the best interest of the dog when placing them into homes.

After these things have been completed, we will let you know if you are approved to adopt or not. We can then arrange a meet and greet with the temporary care family to meet the dog you are interested in.

Rescue adoption fees are $425 for dogs. Fees may vary for our extra large breed dogs, senior dogs, or medical dogs.   All our dogs come microchipped and have age appropriate vaccines.

YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT AND/OR FOSTER WITH US.
