North Coast Youth Climate and Sustainability Leadership Training - Dominican Republic
About the Program

The program is open to youth of all backgrounds ages 18-30, and it is scheduled from August 3rd, 2024 - August 10th, 2024. We will visit the following cities in the Northern Coast of the Dominican Republic: Santiago de los Caballeros, Jarabacoa, Sosua, Puerto Plata, and Santo Domingo. Fluency speaking Spanish is beneficial, but it is not mandatory.

Program Cost: $2500 USD

Included: pre-departure advising, airport meet and greet, in-country orientation, 24/7 emergency and on-site support, shared room accommodations, ground transportation, meals considering dietary restrictions, accommodations, English speaking program leaders, and excursions

Not Included: Roundtrip flights, travel insurance, travel medical insurance, passport costs, and halal meat

Traveling to and from the Dominican Republic:

You are expected to arrive in Santiago de los Caballeros by Saturday, August 3rd before 1pm Eastern Standard Time. The program will end on Saturday, August 10th. 

Trip Extension:

We are selling a land package therefore the youth will have the opportunity to arrive before Saturday, August 3rd and return after Saturday, August 10th but these additional costs are not included in the total program cost. You are responsible for any additional travel expenses incurred, such as local transportation, hotels, meals, etc. You are also responsible for making those accommodations on your own.

Agenda:

There is no optional part of the agenda.  All participants are expected to be on time and present during program hours. Globetrotting Dominicana puts a great deal of time and effort into planning the Youth Climate and Sustainability Leadership Training and ensuring that you will have an incredible experience in the Dominican Republic. There will be ample free time to explore the cities we are visiting during the program.

The following application materials and the non-refundable downpayment of $500 USD are due by March 30th at 11:59PM Eastern Standard Time (New York City Time)

  3. Copy of passport (If the passport is expiring within the next 6 months you must apply to get a new one as soon as possible)
