STRATEGY B: SUPPORT FOR FAMILY, FRIEND AND NEIGHBOR CAREGIVING

A big part of our healthcare system is the love and care provided by family members, friends and neighbors. 

Objective 1: What is a specific idea that could help us achieve support for caregivers financial and well-being?

Sample Idea: Scale up culturally responsive community outreach for caregivers across the state using Community Health Workers (CHW).
Objective 2: What is a specific idea that could help us achieve caregiver training and education?

Sample Idea: Increase the number of culturally relevant educational materials so caregivers of all cultural backgrounds have access to information and education.
STRATEGY C: AGE-FRIENDLY HEALTHCARE ACCESS

As Minnesotans, we should be able to easily access robust healthcare throughout our lives.

Objective 1: What is a specific idea that could help us achieve providers trained in age-friendly practices?

Sample Idea: Grow the number of providers certified as Age-Friendly Health Systems
Objective 2: What is a specific idea that could help us achieve awareness of services, benefits, and programs?

Sample Idea: Improve overall quality, collection, and accessibility of the state's dementia-related data.
STRATEGY D: WELL-TRAINED AND WELL-COMPENSATED DIRECT CARE WORKFORCE

Health care workers deserve respect.  We show respect by providing adequate training and fair compensation. 

Objective 1: What is a specific idea that could help us attract and retain direct care workers?

Sample Idea: Enhance portability/transferability of training, skills, certifications.
Objective 2: What is a specific idea that could help us achieve ongoing training and career growth opportunities?

Sample Idea: Increase job satisfaction by ensuring workers have access to effective supervision.
