Introduction
Hello, and welcome to the ASNA 2022/2023 Centralized Application Process (CAP)!

Founded in 1989, the Actuarial Students’ National Association (ASNA) has served almost 20 universities since its inception and has offered numerous professional development opportunities to the Canadian actuarial community. We have taken a strategic approach towards achieving our objective of assisting fellow actuarial students and have successfully established a respected brand within the actuarial community. Our primary vision is to inspire and educate the next generation of actuarial leaders through a wide variety of unique opportunities at the national level.

We are excited to announce that we are looking for highly motivated and accomplished individuals to join our 2022/2023 team in unique management roles ranging across planning and executing our next convention, to other key leadership roles for developing ASNA outside of our flagship event and into new exciting initiatives for the coming year. If your application is successful, you will be contacted in the following weeks for the next steps. All successful candidates will be transitioned over into their new roles, by the previous role-holder.
Executive Team
The 2022/2023 Executive Team has the following positions, all reporting directly to the President. All candidates must have attended at least one ASNA convention before. The time commitments will vary throughout the year, with an average of 7 hours a week. The roles are as follows:

President-Elect
- Responsible for management of ASNA for the 2023/2024 term
- Role during 2022/2023 term includes management of certain projects, with a focus on long term growth initiatives
- Collaborates with the team on projects throughout the year and keeps in contact with all members of the team to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization overall
- Responsible for ad-hoc assignments that might come up as we progress throughout the year
Note: This position may either be filled during the Spring of 2022 or if no suitable candidates are found, it will be filled with a member of the established ASNA Team in the Autumn of 2022
This position and the position of President the following year have time requirements on average of 20 hours per week, with more leading up to the convention. Only exceedingly dedicated and driven individuals are advised to apply.


Convention Chair
- Responsible for the oversight and execution of the entirety of the ASNA 2023 convention
- In charge of managing the convention team and upholding the high quality of our previous conventions
- Previous convention experience (volunteer, delegate, or executive) is highly recommended
- Responsible for ad-hoc assignments that might come up as we progress throughout the year
Note: This position has time requirements of up to 40 hours/week leading up to the convention, with an average of 15 hours/week over the course of the year. Only exceedingly dedicated and driven individuals are advised to apply.


VP Finance
- Builds, updates, and manages budgets for all aspects of the organization
- Prepares documentation and maintains regular contact with the team to ensure a balanced budget
- Approves budgets and handles organization funds as a depositary including but not limited to writing and depositing cheques, handling payment logistics, and so forth
- Responsible for ad-hoc assignments that might come up as we progress throughout the year
-PLEASE NOTE: this position requires you to provide your Social Insurance Number (SIN) given by the Government of Canada to the bank.


VP Administration
- Manages organization-wide operations and coordinates projects across the national executive team
- Key execution role for new nationwide initiatives we are looking to implement and maintain outside of the convention
- Produces minutes, schedules meetings, and acts as a bridge between all members of the team
- Responsible for ad-hoc assignments that might come up as we progress throughout the year


VP Ontario
- General oversight of all member universities in Ontario
- In charge of student connection in aforementioned schools, including but not limited to visiting member universities for information sessions, visiting schools seeking to become a member university, and keeping ongoing contact with key student leaders in all member universities under their purview
- Responsible for ad-hoc assignments that might come up as we progress throughout the year


VP Quebec
- General oversight of all member universities in Quebec
- In charge of student connection in aforementioned schools, including but not limited to visiting member universities for information sessions, visiting schools seeking to become a member university, and keeping ongoing contact with key student leaders in all member universities under their purview
- Responsible for ad-hoc assignments that might come up as we progress throughout the year


VP West
- General oversight of all member universities in the Western provinces
- In charge of student connection in aforementioned schools, including but not limited to visiting member universities for information sessions, visiting schools seeking to become a member university, and keeping ongoing contact with key student leaders in all member universities under their purview
- Responsible for ad-hoc assignments that might come up as we progress throughout the year


VP Atlantic
- General oversight of all member universities in the Atlantic provinces
- In charge of student connection in aforementioned schools, including but not limited to visiting member universities for information sessions, visiting schools seeking to become a member university, and keeping ongoing contact with key student leaders in all member universities under their purview
- Responsible for ad-hoc assignments that might come up as we progress throughout the year


VP Communications
- Manages all communication channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and email delivery
- Responsible for creating the seasonal ASNA newsletters for mass distribution to our members
- Collaboration between the Executive Team, Convention Committee, and sponsors for articles and content
- Responsible for ad-hoc assignments that might come up as we progress throughout the year


VP Case Competition
- Responsible for the ASNA 2023 Case Competition, including working with corporate partners to develop the case
- Must be able to work on the case throughout the year, with an expected project length of 7 months
- Responsible for ad-hoc assignments that might come up as we progress throughout the year


Webmaster
- Manages and updates our website (training is provided)
- Flexible and fast in updating information on the website
- Works closely with the senior executive team in implementing new initiatives on the website
- Responsible for ad-hoc assignments that might come up as we progress throughout the year


Future Actuary
- Collaborate with VP Communications to create the ASNA seasonal newsletters
- Assist Director of Marketing with creating promotional materials and marketing content for convention
- Manage ad hoc assignments related to ASNA as an organization
- Responsible for ad-hoc assignments that might come up as we progress throughout the year
