In this course, participants will explore how to create a safe, affirming, and inclusive school community for all. We will focus on the needs and realities of LGBTQIA+ students, families, and staff through the lens of research, exploration of GLSEN’s National School Climate Survey, group discussion, and reflection. Terminology, resources, and contemporary issues will be discussed along with the impact of microaggressions, “isms,” and “obias'' on LGBTQIA+ folks and talk about best practices for inclusivity. The instructor will contact registrants prior to the start date.
