2024 GNOMES Geophysics Field Experience Application Form
Use this form to apply for the 2024 GNOMES Geophysics Field Experience.
Applications are due February 28th, 2024 and successful applicants will be notified late March.
Successful applicants will be paid a $1200 stipend for participating. All food and lodging are included.

Eligibility
Candidates for the GNOMES field camp must:
Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States (requirement of the funding agency).
Be enrolled in a 2-year collegiate institution OR be a freshman or sophomore at at 4-year collegiate institution.
Be willing to participate in outdoor field activities.
Be available to attend the field camp from June 10 - June 23, 2024.

Preference will be given to undergraduate students who have not yet declared a major and have an interest in the geosciences.

Transcript
Applicants must provide a transcript (official or unofficial) or other proof of enrollment from their current college/university. First year students in their first semester can provide a list of enrolled courses including class enrollment for Spring 2024. Second year students should provide a transcript from their first year, and their class enrollment for both Fall 2023 and Spring 2024. Transcripts should be emailed to kmkeat@rutgers.edu no later than February 28th, 2024. Include your name in the subject line of the email.

Statement of Purpose
In the last section of this form you will be asked to provide a one-page statement (maximum 3000 characters) that explains:
1. Why you are interested in attending the GNOMES Geophysics Field Experience Program.
2. Why you are interested in the geosciences.
3. What are your career goals.

We recommend that you edit this statement in a word processor software (such as word or google docs) and then cut and paste that statement into the online form.
