Thank you for expressing your interest in supporting Pheno this year.

Please fill out and respond as soon as you are able to assist with planning.

While we do always get helpful hands at short notice, we're looking for some help to ensure that we have an excellent convention.

In the form below, we'll ask you to tell us what types of things you can do to help us and for contact information. If you have any questions about this, please just send us a message on info@pheno.org.au so that the committee can assist.

All Personal Information will only be used for volunteering and only for the 2023 Pheno. Personal Information will be handled by the Volunteer Wrangler. It will be removed after the convention. It may be shared with specific delegated organiser's but will only be shared as a needs only basis related to volunteering. The only other time it will be shared is, Where required or authorised by law.

Most of the Organisation and planning for most Volunteers is likely to occur on the Friday. But we may still need or want to contact you for planning.

Front Desk Work.

Working the Front desk Registration and Canteen retail shifts makes up the bulk of the work required. Shifts are scheduled at game times with overlap over breaks.

Friday work will be busier and requires more people to help cover opening registration. It will require you to arrive to convention site early, we will contact you to discuss your arrival time

If you answered yes to above, How many shifts are you willing to work?

The conference has 12 shifts of three to four hours each that require two individuals to staff both counters.

Times and full schedule will be negotiated at a later date before you are required to commit. (most likely on the Friday Night of rego)

1 shift. (Our goal would be for all volunteers to only work this, but this requires enough numbers)

There are a lot of different ways of helping out at the convention here are some further tasks we'd be grateful for help on.

Would you be willing to do any of the following?

Convention set up/ pack up – HEAVY lifting (i.e., moving desks, fridges, and other heavy objects).

Convention set up/ pack up – LIGHT lifting (i.e., moving chairs, putting up signs for the convention).

Supply runs (i.e., pick up GM/Org meals or fetch more canteen stock. Note this will require you to have a car that you can drive, and to be available during session to help out).

First Aid Officer – ACTIVE. You will be the primary first officer in the event first aid is needed, this may disrupt your convention. We will request a copy of your certification before we roster you as the first aid officer. Phenomenon Labs Inc will have a first aid kit available at front desk in the event first aid is required.

First Aid Officer – standby. You will be alternate first aid officer in the event our primary officer is unable to provide first aid. We will request a copy of your certification before we roster you as the first aid officer. Phenomenon Labs Inc will have a first aid kit available at front desk in the event first aid is required.

Clean-up services (i.e., clean tables/counters after meals, collect rubbish, take garbage and recycling to skip bins, and vacuuming).

Monday prize-giving support and final pack up (i.e., administrative support to the front desk, collecting badges, moving chairs for prize-giving before and after, packing up light items, ensuring venue is clean and secure, ad hoc tasks, pot luck on random tasks). These tasks may require you to miss out on prize-giving and be late to any after convention activities planned.

Assistant to a committee member (i.e., work directly with an existing committee member to help them with tasks throughout the convention). You may be interested in this role if you want to join the committee next year. This may be a significant time commitment, if you select this option we'll reach out to you to discuss further.
