Rho Gamma Application 2020
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Gettysburg College Rho Gamma. Rho Gammas play a vital role before and during formal recruitment. If selected to become a Rho Gamma, you will not only help the Panhellenic Recruitment team, but also all of the Potential New Members. You provide support, friendship, and personal guidance to the women throughout the formal recruitment process.

** Please note, in the past this position has been referred to as either a Recruitment Counselor or Rho Chi, with the abbreviation RC. This abbreviation could be confused with Recruitment Chair, and as we seek to emphasize the importance of this role as a leadership position, we are changing the name to Rho Gamma (RG) to represent the idea of a Recruitment Guide.

It is not a requirement for Rho Gammas to disaffiliate from their chapters in the Spring Semester. However, we do require that you are subtle in your role as Rho Gamma and that you do not promote your individual chapter, but rather the Greek community at large. You will not be allowed to attend your chapter’s recruitment events and you should not be a vocal advocate of your chapter. You will gain knowledge during training about every chapter and about recruitment rules and procedures so that you can serve as a knowledgeable resource to all Potential New Members. Rho Gammas aid PNMs throughout the formal recruitment process as they give the women their first impressions of Greek life at Gettysburg College.

You will be paired with another Rho Gamma to guide your groups during recruitment. This ensures the PNM has the option of talking to another Rho Gamma should they have questions about your chapter, as you are no longer required to be disaffiliated.

To be a Rho Gamma, you must maintain confidentiality, and be in good judicial and academic standing with Gettysburg College and your respective sororities. We also ask that Rho Gamma applicants have an executive board member of their sorority fill out a recommendation for them. The recommendation form can be found at

You also must be able to attend the following:
1. Recruitment training sessions: Sunday, February 23rd 7-8:30 PM and Wednesday, March 4th 8-9:30PM
2. All formal Fall recruitment events: September 4th- September 6th

Thank you, again, for your interest in this exciting position. You have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of future sorority women. All applications and recommendations are due Monday, February 10TH at 5pm. Interviews will be February 10TH-16TH and you will hear back if you have been selected by Sunday, February 16th at 5PM. We look forward to reading your applications!

Sincerely,
Haley Race & Emily Brennan
