Welcome to the application process for a scholarship from the Edison Theatre Company, sponsored by the Edison Theatre Company Boosters. There are two scholarships, each in the amount of $500, that will be awarded. The eligibility requirements and application process are outlined below.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR ONE OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS, THE STUDENT MUST:
1. Be a current, graduating senior at Edison High School who is in good academic standing.
2. Have been accepted, or have made application to, an accredited college, university, technical, vocational, or other accredited educational institution.
3. Have participated in at least 4 Edison Theatre Company activities during high school. These activities include:
• Served as a Cappies Critic for one year
• Worked on the crew for one production (to include sets, props, Stage Manager, hair, make up, costumes, light/sound booth)
• Been a cast member for one production (to include dance-only and ensemble parts)
• Participated in the Edison Improv group for one year
• Served as a part of the orchestra pit for one production
• Served in a leadership role in ITS (International Thespian Society) for one year
APPLICATION PROCESS
Interested students, who meet the eligibility requirements above, will complete the form below. Students will also need to print out the certification form on the ETC website to have it signed by the current theater teacher and their school counselor. The student will need to scan the form and email it to
scholarships@edisontheatrecompany.org. Both the electronic application and the paper form must be turned in by the stated deadline.
The ETC Scholarship Committee will pre-screen all applications to confirm eligibility and then will forward those that are eligible to the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee will be comprised of non-biased members of the Edison community representing the Administration and ETC Boosters (no parents of 12th graders will serve on the Selection Committee).
