Help to grow a community of Islington families who get outdoors everyday!
Wild Walks – ‘adventures for children to take their adults on’ – are short walks of about 2km-3km for all the family and all ages and abilities. They can be transformational; fostering friendships and helping children and families enjoy, socialise and play in their local green spaces every day.
Outdoor People and Islington Council are excited to be hosting a Wild Walk Leader training programme in February 2022. If you would like to help yourself and others to get outdoors more and discover greenspaces in Islington, then this role might be perfect for you. Over three workshops, you will learn how to design and lead your own Islington Wild Walk and get to know a supportive team of Wild Walk Leaders. It is a great opportunity to get to know your area better and make more friends in your community.
The volunteer time commitment as a Wild Walk Leader is not huge. Ideally you would lead or support one walk a month, but this is flexible and a commitment that can be shared between Wild Walk Leaders.
