ʻĀina to ʻŌpū Event - Dec 20 to Dec 22
We are so glad you are registering for this event. We are also thankful for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs who is sponsoring this special 3-day event. We have great speakers lined up to share their manaʻo about kalo in many avenues from planting, eating, preparing, passing it on to the next generation and more. Our speakers come with much experience and love for our community and the sustainability of our ʻohana and island and hearts to pass on their manaʻo to you. IMPORTANT:
- Space is limited to 30 people
- This event is for 12 years old to Kūpuna, however, if a younger child wants to come, they must be accompanied by an adult.
- We encourage you to bring your Pohaku and/or Papa kuiʻiʻai if you have one. You will have opportunity to kuʻi every day.
- If you and/or your child are sick, we ask that you please stay at home to get some rest to heal.
- Only for Day 3, Wednesday Dec 22 - Transportation will be available ONLY to Anahola residents for pick up at the Anahola Clubhouse at 8:10am and drop off after the program is done. An estimated return time at the Anahola Clubhouse will be approximately 3:45pm. You MUST indicate on the registration if you need transportation for this day.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Please be sure you have a water bottle. We will not be providing any water in plastic bottles. Water jugs will be available for you to refill your flasks.
- Casual attire - be prepared for weather changes
- On Day 3 - Wednesday, Dec 22, please bring tabis if you have them. You will be going into wetland loʻi to get leaves for your laulau.

DAY 1 - Ulupono Anahola Mauka Site / 4541 Hokualele Rd Corner - former Anahola Farmers Market on Hokualele Rd. (Speaker: Timothy Reis)
DAY 2 - Ulupono Anahola Makai Site / Corner of Kukuihale Rd and Pilipoli Rd. Enter last gate nearest lone tree on the property. You will see tents set up (Speaker: Kaipo Like and Limahuli Gardens Team)
DAY 3 - Kipunihi Farms on the Kapaa Bypass Rd - It is located on the Crossroads Christian Fellowship site.(Speaker: Adam Asquith)
The format of the event will be the following:
8:30am - Check In (All COVID policies will be in place). We will have sanitizers and masks available
9:00am - Event begins - Pu (conch shell) will be blown to begin Session 1
12noon - Lunch is provided
12:45pm - Pu blown - Session 2
1:45pm - Kuʻi Session
2:45pm - Evaluations
