Delegate Form: Exploring the Western Indo - Pacific

The Indo-Pacific is a vast and integrated region encompassing the area between the Indian and the Pacific Ocean and spreading from the Eastern Coast of Africa to the Western Coasts of the US. The region has been conceptualized as an integrated whole but there has been an excessive focus on the Eastern Indo-Pacific, that is on the regions east of India, at the expense of a focus on regions west of India. This conference envisages stressing upon the need to have an integrated Indo-Pacific and the IOR, and, to highlight India’s vital strategic interests in the region to its West.

The conference will be having two panels :

1) Extending Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) to the Western Indo-Pacific - in which there will be panel discussions of areas and topics such as assessing impacts of the US Iran standoff and importance of North Western and African regions.

2) Prospects for Collaborative Growth and Development in the Western Indo-Pacific - in which there will be panel discussions of areas and topics such as development of infrastructural projects in the region and Maritime cooperation.

Please do note that these topics are only a general overview to help delegates get an overall idea of the discussion areas of the conference and subject to changes.
