Sharing Change Free Book Distribution
The OANM Facilitator Network is piloting a cohort through nine months of programming to skill up in the Offers and Needs Market (OANM) facilitation technique and develop a range of other facilitation tools for building connection and cohesion among their community groups.

The Sharing Change Initiative is a way to connect with another layer of current or emergent facilitators in Chicago who may not have participated in the OANM training earlier in the year to learn who they are, how they work, and what skills they are seeking to build over the coming year.

This information will inform new programming opportunities and encourage future funders to invest resources into these personal development opportunities for community engaged facilitators. 100 Chicago-based survey respondents are eligible to receive a free copy of adrienne maree brown's "Holding Change: The Way of Emergent Strategy Facilitation and Mediation" and the pre-order notebook.

This survey has 5 sections and may take approximately 7 to 10 minutes to complete. There are a maximum of two required  questions in each section. At the end of the survey, you will be able to select the nearest location for picking up your copy of the text. You will be added to a listserv for location announcements and interaction with other recipients.

OANM Facilitator Network Overview
Our current project is focused on advancing a practice called the Offers and Needs Market (OANM) developed by Post Growth Institute. The Offers and Needs Market is a 90 minute facilitated gathering which allows groups of community members to quickly explore and map the range of offers and needs present within their block club, neighborhood association, or community organization.

We have found this to be an invaluable step for communities to engage in advance of presenting the timebank platform because it goes to the root of asset based community development and makes the practice of timebanking much easier to understand. Through OANM, the skills and capacities already present within a community can be immediately connected to the needs while surfacing other opportunities to connect with our neighbors which we did not know were available to us.

Our Purpose

—Develop a cohort of 20 experienced OANM practitioners embedded in local community organizations
—Build stronger relationships among this cohort personally and organizationally by sharing skills and resources
—Expand the use and impact of timebanking practice within Chicago communities
—Ground ourselves in community building which centers equity, reciprocity, & self-determination (solidarity economy)

Our Outcomes

—A network of connected practitioners who can make the Offers and Needs Market (OANM) process more available across in Chicago
—Stronger general facilitation practice for Chicago organizations
—A culture and practice of skill and resource sharing which transforms communities
