The Purpose, Vision, and Mission of the Intern position:

- The reason for creating an Intern position is for Senior High students to engage in intentional leadership development while continuing to grow in their faith.

- Through this position, students will become stronger leaders and be given greater access to more responsibility that influences the culture and vision at CircleYouth.

- This position is all about seeing the potential in a student, and working with them over the course of 10 months to help them grow so that they can in turn influence their peers (in school, work, and at church) in both their leadership and faith journey.

We started this internship because we're committed to building leaders through the ministry at Circle Drive Alliance Church. And the best way to start building leaders is by providing opportunity.

So as a Senior High Intern, you'll be a seen and known as a student leader within your youth group. You'll have opportunities to host, lead, and possibly even preach from the front. You'll also have opportunities to lead in behind the scenes work like set-up, event planning & organization, and learning how to do lights, sound, and social media.

So to put it briefly, you'll be a better leader at the end of the school year than when you started. And you'll have learned more tools to add to your "toolbelt" that will be an asset wherever life takes you.

Here's a short list of some of the responsibilites:

  • Host, lead some games, and potentially preach from the front.
  • Help with set-up at weekly gatherings and monthly events.
  • Meet with Interns and Director of Youth & Young Adults every second Sunday after church for an lunch Intern Meeting. These meetings will be a mix of planning, inspiration, and leadership development.
  • Be the glue of your small group, and youth group. Invite new kids into what you're doing, and make every youth feel welcome.
  • Attend Leader Meetings on Wednesdays at 6:30pm before Senior High.
  • Regularly attend Sunday service.

Here's a short list of some of the requirements:

  • Exhibit spiritual maturity and be a good Christian role model.
  • Attends Senior High and Sunday services.
  • Experience working with and leading people.
  • Enjoy and connect well with people.
  • Have a heart for Jesus and having others know him.
  • Outgoing and high energy.
  • Willingness to contribute and step-up as needed.
  • Going into Grades 10 - 12. (Some exceptions might be made)
