Epidemyc Youth Camp 2022

Epidemyc Camp will run August 8-12, 2022. We will have an amazing week to build community, learn about how we can partake in life with God, and have an abundance of fun. There will be speakers, games, a color war with color slip and slide, a hike in Waterton, entertainment, a banquet supper, and plenty of love.

We asked that youth meet at the Tab for 10:00 am on Monday, August 8 (please bring a bag lunch). If coming from out of town and meeting at Island Lake Retreat Centre, please aim to arrive between 1:00-2:00pm (please eat before arriving, as supper is not until 5:30)

On Friday clean up begins at 10:30 am, with the goal to be loaded and leaving by noon. If you are picking your child up from camp, please be there before noon. Those being transported back to Lethbridge will arrive at the Tab approximately 3:00 pm (a text will be sent to all parents/guardians when we are close to the city).

What to Bring:
Bedding (there are clean single camp sized mattresses on each bunk)
Pillow
Toiletries
Towel
Medication (all meds must be checked in)
Clothing (We are in the mountains, the days will be warm, but the nights are chilly. Be prepared for a wide variety of weather).
One nicer outfit for a banquet dinner
One outfit that can get dirty (will have a color war, and items may be stained forever)
Swimsuit (with the color war, there is a slip and slide that will have paint on it, as well as opportunities to swim)
Extra socks and underwear
Good shoes for walking (we will be doing a 3 km hike)
A bag lunch for Monday

Please leave electronics at home. Although kids can bring cell phones for the travel, all devices will be stored away for the week.

Dates/Pick Up/Drop Off: Epidemyc Youth Camp will be held between August 8-12, 2022 at Island Lake Christian Retreat Center. Meet at the Tab (1805 9 Ave N) at 10:00 am on the 8th. Pick up from the Tab on the 12th at approx 4:00pm.

Sessions: Sessions will about learning how we can participate in God’s plans, there will be hiking, color war, nacho pool and plenty of time to build community.

Transportation: We will be travelling in the Tab's 15 passenger vans.

Oversight: There will be numerous adult leaders.

Cost to youth: $60.00 and money for free time (shopping and snacks).

ELEMENTS OF RISK

Injuries that may occur at camp include, but are not limited to:
-Car accident
-Accidents while playing sports
-Insect bites, encounter with nature

The risk of sustaining these types of injuries results from the nature of the camp and can occur without the fault of either the youth or the leaders of Epidemyc, or where the camp is taking place. By choosing to take part in this camp, you are accepting that your child may be injured. The chance of an injury occurring can be reduced by carefully always following instructions.

I have read the above and I understand that by participating in the camp described above, myself and my youth are assuming the risks associated with doing so.
