Request to perform at 3 Chord Thursday 2022
UPDATE @14 January 2023
We are now using a new form to consider song requests for 3 Chord Thursday 2023.

----------
Thank you for volunteering to perform a song at 3 Chord Thursday, the thematic song session in Zoom. We have a supportive audience eager to learn and be led by performers passionate to share songs they love. We pride ourselves in providing song sheets that are easy to read, that is, filling up the entire screen which we share. This means little margins but allowing the main space for lyrics, chords, and tabs/notes (if any). We avoid websites that have pop up ads or any ads because they are annoying.

Please use this form PRIMARILY to submit ONE song for ONE session. You can give more than one song title in case another person also chooses one of them. You can use this form any number of times. All sessions are video recorded so you can review and learn from it.

To give others enough time to practise your song, please submit your request and your song sheet by 3 pm EST (or EDT) (8 pm GMT, 10 am HST) the Sunday before the Thursday if possible.

Priority will be given to songs that have NOT been performed in previous 3 Chord Thursday sessions nor in the same session. The Line-Up: songs will be ordered from fewest number of chords to the most number of chords, up to 10 songs per session. Some space is reserved for current and past students of Anne Ku taking music classes.

The earlier you submit your request, the greater chance you will get it. The more songs you request, the more likely one of them will be chosen. You can submit more than one song for a single session but you won't get to perform more than one song unless you are sharing (tagging) with another person(s). The more popular the song requested, the more likely someone else will also request it. If so, you can either share the load (through sequential relaying / tagging) or choose another song.

Once selected, performers are requested to arrive early to do a sound and light check, with light on your face, hands and ukulele all visible and original sound enabled. Doors are open half an hour before the official start time.

When it's your turn to perform, please introduce your song in 30 seconds. A good introduction explains why the song is famous or unique or personal to you. Point out any predictable and/or challenging chords or chord progressions and riffs.

Please check and refresh the blog post of the specific song session to see updates. Usually your request is granted within 24 hours and listed HOWEVER between Thurs and Sat, the updates won't appear until Monday. If the song session is full or past, it will disappear this form. We do keep a waitlist if it's full and useful if someone cancels last minute (rare) or queue for the next session of the same theme (part 2, 3, etc).

If you haven't attended the song sheet workshop of 1/7/2021, please watch the YouTube video to learn how to find and edit song sheets for readability and playability.

All sessions are recorded for performers to review and improve and for participants to learn. Subscribe to the YouTube Channel to get e-mail notification of public livestream recordings. As soon as the Zoom session is over, these livestream videos get UNLISTED. Only those YouTube subscribers will get the link.
