This application does not require a resume or cover letter. Instead, we hope to get a good sense of your qualification via the essay questionsThe essay responses will be the main way we select candidates for next round interviews. Please respond as thoughtfully and thoroughly as possible.

I have read the important notes from above:
*
In your own words describe what strategic social impact means. Why do you think the Center for Social Impact emphasizes the word strategic? What does strategy have to do with positive, sustainable, ethical and effective social change and justice? (150-300 words) *
How will you create an environment of belonging in the Center for Social Impact for all students at UVU, including racial or ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and students living with disabilities? Please give specific examples of what you might do or implement to create this environment.  (150-300 words) *
Describe any life experiences that have provided you with skills or mindsets that make you qualified for this position. We believe that impact leadership qualities can come from a variety of experiences, which could include (but are not limited to): leadership, cultural experiences, service, paid work, and family or personal challenges.  (150-300 words) *
Provide an example of an organization, community leader, or resource that you believe to be socially impactful and that resonates with you. Explain why you believe it to be socially impactful, and what about its impact makes it especially effective and resonant.  (150-300 words) *
What do you think causes poverty? Why?  (150-300 words) *
When someone has personally experienced the effects of a social problem, or has very close proximity to those who do, they have "lived experience" with the problem.  Why is it so important to listen to and be led by those with lived experience when researching and developing potential social impact solutions? What can happen if the perspective of those with lived experience is left out when developing impact solutions? (150-300 words) *
