Macroalgae Research and Monitoring in Narragansett Bay

The Narragansett Bay Estuary Program (NBEP) (NBEP) and the Northeast Algal Society are partnering to host a half-day meeting to discuss macroalgae research and monitoring in Narragansett Bay. Macroalgae is an important base of the marine food web and is quite significant to the local culture and economy. During the meeting, attendees will discuss current macroalgal research, monitoring, and management concerns in the region (inclusive of Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts). The goals of this event are to strengthen the network of researchers focused on the needs of Narragansett Bay, develop a list of ongoing projects and needs, and explore how NBEP can support macroalgal research in the region.
