The MA Commission on LGBTQ Youth and Safe Schools Program for LGBTQ Students are currently seeking proposals for community-based projects. Grants are available for up to $1,000 to youth, educators, and community organizations focused on supporting LGBTQ+ youth in Massachusetts. We welcome proposals for a two-month timeline in May and June.
Project Requirements
- Projects must benefit LGBTQ+ youth under 25 in Massachusetts
- Should be a new project or new aspect of existing project
- Grant must be for future expenses; not for reimbursement of funds already spent
- The funds must be for project expenses in May and June 2021
Project Examples
- Artwork created by and/or featuring LGBTQ+ youth; funds for supplies and artist stipends
- An event on LGBTQ topics; costs of hosting, including speaker fees and technology
- Registration or travel fees for Pride events, LGBTQ oriented conferences, trainings, or other events for youth
- Starting or expanding a school GSA (Gender Sexuality Alliance); any related costs
- School or community awareness campaigns, with funds going toward design, printing and distribution costs
