The CS Grad Council invites you to our 2021 Lightning Talks event.
Come hear a succession of 3-minute Lightning Talks on research and topics of interest from graduate students in the CS department. This will be a great opportunity to hear about different CS research happening at Virginia Tech, from the perspective of the students who do the work.

For new students:
This event will guide you in your selection of courses, advisor, and thesis/dissertation topic.
For students taking the Graduate Seminar:
You can use the lightning talks as one of the writing assignments in the graduate seminar under the "You Choose The Talk" option.
For other graduate students:
This is a good opportunity to practice presenting, network with other labs, and eat free food.
You are welcome to come whether or not you give a talk.
For NOVA students:
We will have a Zoom session for remote access.
Remote talks are welcome.
If you want to give a talk:
- Time limit: 3 minutes
- Slides optional
- Talk about your research, the research life, or other topics the new graduate students should know.
