Introduction: This week we continue to hear about the call of Jesus. We will read about four fisherman who leave their boats and nets to follow Jesus. By answering Jesus' call they become the first of his follower's. Jesus tells them that he will teach them how to fish for people. How to catch or bait them with the message of God's love.  Jesus wants his followers to share the Good News of God's love with others. So let us read this weeks Gospel on page 2 of your January 24th Gospel Weekly and then answer the questions below.

Great job!! Jesus calls all his followers to share the Good News of God's love with others. You ask yourself "How"? We can do it with our words and our actions. Every disciple of Jesus has a vocation to love. On page 4 of your Gospel Weekly you will see our Catholic Faith Word for the week is "vocation". A vocation is a call from God to live a life of love and holiness, serving God and his people. Many people commit to that vocation of love through the Sacraments of Service either through Matrimony or Holy Orders. Husbands, wives, religious sisters or brothers, deacons or priests commit to a vocation of love. And others serve God as single men and women. Some of those men and women are sent on missions of love to help those beyond their communities. In our next lesson you will learn how you to can fulfill a vocation to become a missionary of love. But before you move on look at this weeks activity below.
Fishers of Men:  There are many things we can do to be good fishers of men and women. We can show love and care to other people. We can tell them about Jesus and his wonderful love. We can pray for them. And we can invite them to church where they can experience some of the love and joy of the family of God. In the mail this week - be on the lookout - you will be getting a  packet containing a "Fishers of Men" puzzle. Try to think of other ways that you can "catch" people to be followers of God while you are coloring in your "Fishers of Men" puzzle. Then take your puzzle apart, mix it around and have fun putting it back together!!
