Organizing for Firefly begins in ~January and ends 2-4 weeks after the event is over. Organizers may spend 1-5 hours a week on average volunteering for Firefly, or more if they decide to take on more work.
Long haul: In the 6 months leading up to the event
Medium haul: In the 3 months leading up to the event
Final stretch: In 1-2 months leading up to the event
Close-out period: In the 2-4 weeks after the event
