The 49th International ABDOS Conference, themed
“Think, Write, Print, Read - Libraries serving a New Enlightenment”,
will take place as a joint event with the National Library of Latvia in Riga from 23th to 25th May 2022.

The organizers request proposals for short (10 minutes) or long (20 minutes) presentations on the following topics:
• Digital services: Libraries in Covid times and beyond
• Central infrastructures: German “Specialised Information Services” and similarly organized portals
• Displaced Books: Libraries in exile
• Newspapers as a source of Enlightenment: Language and identity in interaction

The conference will also include a workshop on e-books, the ABDOS General Assembly and an opening ceremony with a renowned key-note speaker.

The official conference languages will be German, English and Russian. Since no simultaneous interpretation will be offered, however, we invite speakers to speak in English, if possible.

Vom 23. bis 25. Mai 2022 wird die 49. Internationale Arbeits- und Fortbildungstagung der ABDOS e.V. unter dem Motto
„Think, Write, Print, Read – Libraries serving a New Enlightenment“
als gemeinsame Veranstaltung mit der Nationalbibliothek Lettlands in Riga stattfinden.

Erbeten werden Einreichungen für kürzere (10 Minuten) und längere (20 Minuten) Beiträge zu folgenden Schwerpunktthemen:
• Digitale Angebote: Bibliotheksdienste während und nach der Covid-Pandemie
• Zentrale Infrastrukturen: Die “Fachinformationsdienste” und ähnlich angelegte Portale
• Displaced Books: Bibliotheken im Exil
• Zeitungen als Quellen der Aufklärung: Zu Wechselwirkungen zwischen Sprachen und Identitäten

Die feierliche Eröffnungsveranstaltung mit einem renommierten Keynote-Sprecher ist ebenso Teil der Konferenz wie ein Workshop zum Thema E-Books und die ABDOS-Mitgliederversammlung.

Die offiziellen Tagungssprachen sind Deutsch, Englisch und Russisch. Da jedoch kein Simultandolmetschen angeboten werden kann, bitten wir die Referentinnen und Referenten, nach Möglichkeit auf Englisch zu sprechen.
