*
1 point
To load and unload resources
To add unnecessary abstraction and make games harder to write.
What is the 'asset pipeline'?
1 point
An asset pipeline is a relative path. Here is an example ./Dropbox/files/lecture/lecture.html
A procedure for getting multimedia, files, and data from other tools into a game. One can think of this as a workflow, and it is usually best for all parties to agree upon an intermediate format (.png for images, .obj for 3D, .mp4 for video, etc.)

Is it always good to use a .zip file to store all of your assets. Think about this carefully, there are no certainties in computer science.
*
1 point
Yes, always using a .zip to package resources is always 100% optimal.
'Always' is a tricky word, while a .zip file is convenient to use, and good for keeping resources together a .zip file is an additional abstraction layer (that is, you have to decompress the data and then process it). If the time to decompress the data takes a long time, and does not save you very much space, seek alternative options!
Git is a tool we have been using to manage text assets. Do you think git manages things like images, 3d models, or binary files well?
1 point
No, it is hard to track changes of binary files. In addition, each revision of a file might mean storing lots of data between each assets data. For this course, it is probably okay since we are working in small teams and not working with 100s of artists on a project.
Yes--git is optimal at everything.
