Preserving Family History Through Recipes
I have always had an interest in people's cultures and heritage through the lens of what they grow and cook, or what their grandmothers grew and cooked. Not just their grandmothers, but it seems most of the time, people have shared recipes that their grandmother passed down to them. The photo above is of my paternal grandmother on my wedding day. She finally agreed to teach me my favorite dish on the day that she met Jacob. Before that, she told me to just come visit if I wanted to eat sinigang, a tamarind-spiced fish soup from the Philippines.

I have no idea where this project will go, but I'm starting to collect recipes and stories that may simply be a recipe that I try in my own kitchen; it may become part of a written anthology; or I may use this as a jumping off point to actually start doing small video clips in my kitchen as I cook my way through your offerings. So, if you're willing to be a part of this adventure, please fill this out. You can fill this out multiple times. The more, the merrier.
