Modulo Participation Form 2019-2020
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING THE FORM:

Thank you for your interest in taking part in the 2019-2020 Modulo Programme – we’re excited to have you on board!

- Please note that the Modulo Programme is for young people aged 11-18 years. Please contact us if any members of your Modulo will be outside of this age range.
- Modulos can be as small as 2 people, but are usually ensembles of around 10 players. If you have a particularly large group, please contact us to discuss.

To confirm your place, please complete this form. Once you're signed up, you'll receive a Modulo Pack containing all the resources you’ll need to prepare for the 2020 Modulo Meets.

By signing the form, you are agreeing to:

- lead an ensemble in your school or community using the Modulo Music and teaching resources until July 2020
- attend a Regional Meet in Spring 2020 and a National Meet in Birmingham or London in Summer 2020
- host an in-school rehearsal for your Modulo led by musicians from our artistic partners
- pay the non-refundable Participation Fee of £250 (or a contribution to this discussed separately with the OFA team)
- complete the feedback forms about the impact of the programme within the deadlines given
- comply with the licensing agreement

We have a limited number of places each year, so we ask groups to sign up only if they are confident that they can fully participate in the programme.

PROGRAMME WITHDRAWAL
We book venues and engage artistic partners based on the number of groups who complete the Participation Form, so we take withdrawal from the programme very seriously.

We believe that all ensembles can benefit from participation in the programme, regardless of the experience level of students or the Modulo leader. We will do all we can to practically support your participation in the programme.

If you have any concerns or encounter any barriers to participation at any point during the year, please contact us and we will support you - including logistical and administrative arrangements. If a significant change in circumstances results in participation in the programme being impossible, we will arrange a telephone call to debrief with you and a member of your Senior Leadership Team, to help us understand the circumstances of your withdrawal and to better support Modulos in the future.

CONDUCTORS FOR CHANGE
Modulo's sister programme, Conductors for Change, gives music leaders the tools, strategies and practical conducting techniques to set up a new instrumental ensemble, or develop an existing one. Created by a team of highly experienced music directors and educators this flexible programme of hands-on training is rooted in inclusive practice.

We have recently launched an exciting new online course in ensemble leadership training, covering conducting skills, rehearsal techniques and approaches, and arranging music for mixed skill-level ensembles. All Modulos who sign up for the programme will receive an exclusive discount code for accessing the modules. More information can be found at https://www.orchestrasforall.org/conductors-for-change.

We are planning to pilot a half day of conducting and ensemble leadership training for teachers attending the London March 2020 Modulo Meets. This will run in parallel to one of the London Modulo Meets (either 24 or 25 March, date TBC). Participating teachers will receive a half day of OFA's inclusive ensemble leadership training, culminating in conducting a section of the afternoon Modulo session. You will be asked to indicate your interest in this in the Participation Form.
