Dear Members of Congress:

As small business owners, we know that even before COVID-19, many of our businesses were struggling just to stay afloat. The American Jobs Plan will provide much needed direct support to small businesses by investing $110 billion in financing and technical assistance programs for small businesses, giving increased access to federal contracts for small businesses, and helping small businesses recover from extreme weather events. The American Jobs Plan will help us build back better.

We also know that building 100% clean electricity by 2035, as proposed by the American Jobs Plan, will create millions of good jobs, build America’s middle class, and  reduce healthcare costs, all of which will be good for business. The American Jobs Plan will also give the Production Tax Credit and Investment Tax Credit for renewable energy direct pay options, making it easier for small businesses to make full use of them. Every dollar spent on clean energy creates three times more jobs than a dollar spent on fossil fuels, making clean energy investments truly be a win-win policy for the climate and our economy

As small businesses who want to embrace clean energy, we urge Congress to quickly pass the American Jobs Plan and its commitment to 100% clean electricity by 2035.
