Registration: Adoptee Voices in Practice: A Conversation about Adoptees in Social Work

The Transracial Adoptee Social Work Collective (TRASWC) is very excited to announce that they will be hosting their very first panel event, Voices in Practice: A Conversation about Adoptees in Social Work. Adoptees and MSW students Alice Hennessy and Olivia Horwitz will be engaging in a conversation with NYU Silver professors Dr. Dina Rosenfeld, DSW, MSW and transracial/transnational adoptee Dr. Aminda Heckman, PhD, LCSW to discuss their experiences working within the adoption community and personal adoptee experiences. They will also talk about how adoptee social workers’ own experiences inform their work in the field, and what it means to be an adoptee clinician.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 18th from 6 PM - 7:30 PM at 1 Washington Square North in the Parlor Room. Unable to attend in person? There will also be the option to zoom in! Light snacks and refreshments will served.

This event is open to all (adoptees and non-adoptees) who are interested in learning more about the adoptee/foster care populations, or are just curious in learning more about the adoptee experience!
