SUBJECT:  How to Apply for the Ummah Investment Scholarship

On behalf of Sisters United in Human Service, Inc., we pray that this correspondence finds you in good health and enjoying the favors of Allah (SWT).  We are pleased that you have chosen to apply for the Sisters United in Human Service, Inc. Ummah Investment Scholarship, an opportunity for an aspiring student to be acknowledged and rewarded for his or her academic and community service achievements.

 1. Complete the attached scholarship application form.  Applicants should type or print clearly, and use only the space provided on the form to answer the questions.   Unless specified on the application form, no attachments, resumes, pictures or other material of any kind should be used to answer the questions or be submitted.

2. The signed application must be submitted with the following:
□ An official high school transcript documenting your GPA for grades 9 through 11; and
□ An SAT/PSAT/ACT transcript obtain through your high school guidance office; and
□ The four typed essay recommendations; and
□ An acceptance letter or an enrolled confirmation from the educational institution

3. The applicant and his/her parent or guardian (if below the age of 21) must sign the Certification and Authorization of the application.
 
4. The application, transcripts and essays should be returned to us at the address below by Friday, April 15, 2022, by mail.  The application and essays may be sent electronically to asaleem1104@gmail.com.  If any portion is incomplete or missing, the application will not be considered. Sisters United in Human Service, Inc. is under no obligation to notify an applicant if any part of his/her application is incomplete or missing; it is the applicant’s sole responsibility to ensure that all requested materials are submitted.

The instructions and an explanation of the materials needed to complete the application process are attached.  Please complete and submit all of the required materials by the application deadline Friday, April 15, 2022 to be considered for the Ummah Investment Scholarship.

■  The Award
     Sisters United in Human Service, Inc. awards scholarships to be paid to the student solely for the purpose of his/her
     educational pursuits.

■   Eligibility
      The applicant must meet all of the following criteria:
       • The student is a college-bound high school senior or has been enrolled in a college at the time of application.
       • The student will be or has been enrolled in either a two- or four-year accredited educational institution.
       • The student agrees to use any scholarship funds awarded by January 31, 2023.

■  Application Process
     To apply, eligible members must complete the attached scholarship application form. Applicants should type or print
     clearly and use only the space provided on the form to answer the questions.  Other than specified below, no attachments,
     resumes, pictures or other material or used to answer the questions.

✔ Check each box after completion.
    1. The signed application must be submitted with:

■   Selection Process
     Judging will be based on both subjective criteria and weighted, objective criteria. These  include achievements,
     extracurricular and community activities, recommendations, etc.

■   Application Deadline
     Applications must be returned to Sisters United, Inc. no later than April 15, 2022.
     * Only U.S. residents are eligible to apply.

■   Scholarship Applicant Information
     This application will not be considered unless all information is completed in full, on this form only, and all requested
     documentation is provided. Please type or print clearly, and use only the space provided on this form to answer the
     questions. Do not use any attachments, resumes, pictures or other material of any kind to answer the questions. Winners will
     be notified by Sisters United in May 2022.
