Youth Voting Ambassadorship Application

Voting is your super power! Easy and impactful, our ambassador fellowship will look good on your resume and/or college applications.

Interested in earning money while serving your community? Become a Youth Voting Ambassador with Atlanta GLOW for the Georgia 2024 election season! Our Youth Voting Ambassador Fellowship is designed to enliven your interest in the civic engagement process and help you learn your rights and responsibilities as a citizen. This program will also provide hands on experience and training on how to organize and implement voter activities to increase the participation of young people in the electoral process.

What is a Youth Voting Ambassador?

As a Youth Voting Ambassador, you will help Atlanta GLOW to encourage more of your friends, family and peers to get-out-the-vote (GOTV) and get involved in the Georgia 2024 election season. Ambassadors will receive a voter registration training and mobilization toolkit; communications and social media tools; event materials and posters; and access to information and resources to deploy relational organizing tactics. Ambassadors will also be granted access to a free relational organizing app for their mobile phones, through which they will build relationships with friends, family and classmates living in Georgia to pledge and vote in the Georgia 2024 election season.

What does it take to become a Youth Voting Ambassador?

  • Must identify as a young woman and be between 18-25 years old, a Georgia resident and a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be committed to the idea that every vote counts.
  • Must abide by our code of conduct as outlined in our voter registration training and mobilization toolkit.
  • Cannot have a familial relationship with any candidate on the ballot.
  • Must refrain from using hateful language, symbols and other inappropriate speech when participating in online sharing, GOTV outreach events and discussions.
  • Must be willing to remain nonpartisan and NOT express any political opinions while serving in the ambassador capacity (you cannot endorse a specific candidate on any Youth Ambassador posts).

What are the hours and duration?

Ambassadors are expected to dedicate a minimum number of hours based on the tier they sign up for. Duties include reaching out to personal friends, family, college peers, church members and social media networks to encourage voting in the Georgia 2024 election season. If there is a Georgia runoff election, additional hours and earnings may be granted if interested in continuing the ambassadorship.

Is there any compensation?

The ambassador position is an elevated volunteer position, not a job; however, those who meet or exceed goals will receive a stipend, based on the fellowship tier they sign up for. Stipends will be paid out post-election and are contingent upon substantial demonstration of progress met (e.g., regular social media postings, successful recruitment of voter pledges, proof of GOTV outreach event facilitation). If there is a Georgia runoff election, additional hours and earnings may be granted if interested in continuing the ambassadorship.
