Basecamp's Community Support Plan
Basecamp's community is vibrant and resilient. Together we are faced with an unprecedented global crisis that has required world-wide commitment towards stopping the spread of COVID-19. This effort has meant a severe and dramatic reduction to standard routines for people, forcing the closure of many businesses like our own.

When we first understood the severity of this challenge, we were faced with the very difficult and very real decision of having to close our doors. This was a difficult decision to make because not only do we care deeply about our members, but also the well-being of the almost 50 staff who are now without work during this trying time.

The day we made our announcement coincided with the billing date for our monthly members so we opted to not charge any dues for the March-April billing period and to freeze all further payments. Due to the uncertainty we faced at the time, we felt like this was the right decision to support our members. However, this revenue loss is difficult for us as a business and as we plan for what the future holds we are faced with the potential of having to continue to defer these payments until we can get our doors open again.

As a membership-based business, this is scary for us. Under normal circumstances, we would never ask our members to be paying for a service they cannot use, but we also want to make sure we can open our doors after this crisis has passed and for that, we could use some support.

Following the direction of many other climbing gyms, we wanted to offer an opt-in option for monthly withdrawals as a way to support our business, knowing that your payments will make a huge difference in the stability of our business and future of our community.

Opt-in Support Options for EFT Members:

     1)  Restart your membership on April 15th
     2)  Pay dues from March 15th as a way to support the business but stay frozen until we reopen

There is absolutely no pressure or expectation for any members to pay their dues and the default status for everyone will be frozen memberships with no dues owed upon return. Any and all support you are able to provide will help us support our business, staff, and community and to ensure we can open our doors as soon as possible.

Each month you pay for that the gym is not in use, we will double your free day passes for a corresponding month on your return and will lift the restrictions to allow them to be used for anyone. This means you will have two free day passes per month, for every month you support the business. This is just a small way of saying thank you for helping us in a time of need. On top of that, we will also be donating a free day pass to a group, organization or individual in need.

Being transparent about all of this is extremely important to us. We want you to know that staying alive as a business is our greatest priority.

Right now, there is no clear indication on when we may be able to open again, but we will be doing everything we can to still communicate with you regarding timelines and of course, prospects for the second facility and its opening date.

Stay healthy, stay positive, and take care.
