The purpose of the Tampa/Hillsborough County Continuum of Care (CoC) Youth Action Board is to advocate on behalf of homeless and unaccompanied youth experience housing instability in Tampa/Hillsborough County. As a member you will be given the opportunities to provide feedback to agencies involved in the Tampa/Hillsborough County CoC and assist in making youth homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring.

Overall expectations of all positions and members: - Passionate about advocating for positive change for unaccompanied youth in Hillsborough County.
- Willing to serve as the voice of current and former homeless youth in Hillsborough County.
- Are expected to set the highest example for other homeless youth.
- Keep confidential information private within the Youth Action Board.
- Attend scheduled meetings and event.
- Speaks on behalf of yourself and other homeless youth in the Tampa/Hillsborough County CoC at COC meetings.
- * These positions will receive a monetary incentive based on the current YAB meeting and attendance policy for participates.
Position Descriptions:
Member
- A member is passionate about advocating for positive change for unaccompanied youth and youth that have experienced homelessness/unstable housing in Hillsborough County.
- Willing to serve as the voice of current and former homeless youth in Hillsborough County.
- Are expected to set the highest example for other homeless youth.
- Keep confidential information private within the board.
- Attend scheduled meetings and events.
- Speak on behalf of homeless youth in Hillsborough County at Continuum of Care (Coc) meetings.
- Assist with recruitment of new Youth Action Board members as needed.
Chair
- The Chair maintains constant communications with YAB.
- Conduct monthly meetings.
- Works with the Youth Action Board member and Continuum of Care to develop and implement Coordinated Community Plan and YHDP.
- Will be available for questions and concerns and respond quickly to board members.
- Serve as a role model to the Hillsborough County YAB and general membership.
- Attend monthly CoC meetings, Executive Planning Meetings
Co-Chair
- The Co-Chair works directly with the YAB Chair.
- Gathers tools, resources, documents, and tips.
- Maintains membership database and board member roster.
- Welcomes new members.
- Assists in updating and creating meaning materials about YAB.
- Serve as alternate for YAB Chair for attending Coc Meeting, Executive Planning Meetings.
Secretary
- The Secretary Records at all meetings for YAB and distributes to Co-Chair in a timely manner.
- Gathers information, YAB updates, and membership records on a monthly basis.
- Will be responsible for the YAB calendar.
- Assist in administrative functions.
Guest
- A guest is a visitor who gets their voice heard.
- Doesn't have voting privileges.
- Can volunteer in activates with members.
- Also, can use your skills in any area you like.
- Won’t get an incentive but can participate in guest raffle.
- Isn’t required to attend every meeting.
