Transformations: Action on Equity, brought together international and Australian speakers who are actively creating new futures for the built environment professions and the communities they serve. It provides an opportunity to learn from leading practitioners and academics, to share ideas with colleagues and to enhance your knowledge of the gender equity in the built environment professions and practice.

Transformations was a collaboration between Parlour and the Melbourne School of Design, University of Melbourne, 14 & 15 November, 2020. It was convened by Justine Cark, Julie Willis and Anna Hurliman.

In this session Akua Danso (Black Females in Architecture, UK), Catherine Griffiths (Designers Speak (Up), NZ), Suzie Hunt (#WorkWomenWisdom, WA), April McCabe (Urbanistas, NSW) discuss the emergence of activist to demand change, support underrepresented groups and shift the image of our professions. What are their motivations and means? What are some strategies, obstacles and opportunities?
