Vision of the LWV - We envision a democracy in which every person has the desire, the right, the knowledge, and the confidence to participate.

Each League member has a role to play in making this vision a reality. Please complete this survey so your time and talents can be used in areas that match your schedule, talents, and interests. Every year brings new possibilities and life changes so it is important that members take the survey each year.

Communication is vital to any organization and we want to keep everyone informed of “what is happening.” Please indicate your preferred method of receiving information.

E-mail is sufficient, includes monthly newsletters and special announcements.

An on-going project that involves 1 - 3 hours a week for a period of time.

Registering voters which requires being trained as a Volunteer Deputy Registrar (1 hour) and working 2 to 4 hour shifts at various locations, including high schools, throughout the year.

Vote411 and Voters Guides - assist with information gathering, proofing, and distribution.

Assist with membership meetings and fundraisers by sitting at information table, helping with refreshments, and general setup.

As a League observer regularly attend a meeting of a governmental entity such as a city council, planning committee, or school board meeting and complete a short report.

LWV-CA has a Land Use Position which includes water, land, and night sky issues.. On an on-going basis, work to further the goals of this position.

Get out the vote activity

Work with Girl Scouts (all levels) to help them earn a citizenship badge. We have all the curriculum and project materials as developed by the LWV of Kent Ohio.

Advocacy efforts for a complete census and redistricting

Special Talents

Social Media Buffs - post events to twitter, Instagram, and online sites such as Next Door Neighbor. Would require an hour in the days before an event.

Shutter Bugs - take photos of events for the Voter, Facebook, and to send to the media.
