About this workshop:
This workshop is designed to help educators, administrators, psychologists, specialists, pathologists, etc, ensure that language does not serve as a barrier to positive parent/family/community relationships or as a barrier to effective family engagement in special education settings.
Participants will:
- Learn the interpreter role and best practices for working with interpreters in meetings.
- Understand interpreter ethics and how to support their role.
- How to create inclusive multilingual interactions beyond the interpreter.
- The difference between interpreters and bilingual employees.
