Check the following common and easy to fix issues as the first step in the furnace diagnosis. *

DO NOT turn power to furnace off if you have verified that it is on. Turning furnace power off will clear error codes which you may need to collect later on in this diagnosis.

Furnace circuit breaker in my electrical panel is in the on position.

Furnace power switch on/ near my furnace is in the on position.

I have checked my furnace filter and verified that it is clean. If it is dirty I have removed it or replaced it.

I have set my thermostat mode to 'Heat'.

I have set desired temperature on Thermostat to at least 2 degrees higher than current indoor temperature on thermostat.

Within 30 seconds to 5 minutes from turning thermostat mode to 'Heat' and turning up temperature, the thermostat should send a 'Call for Heat signal to the furnace. You will know a 'Call for Heat' signal has been sent on digital thermostats if a heating icon appears or wording indicating 'Heat on', 'Heating' or some variation of this appears. *

My thermostat appears to be operating normally. It is calling for heat, but my furnace is not operating normally.
