The German International School is offering a weekly online class to maintain and extend the fluency in Mandarin Chinese of recent Middle School-aged students of intensive elementary-level Mandarin Immersion programs.

Dates & Times:
Annual Term: Sept 12, 2023- June 11, 2024 (36 weeks)
No class during the weeks of: 11/20, 12/18, 12/25, 3/25

The Chinese Teen Class Program will be delivered online with weekly synchronous meetings through an online platform (90 minutes total over 2 days, 45 minutes each session) and asynchronous assignments. Google Classroom or Seesaw will be used to assign and collect homework.

Curriculum Overview:
Tuesdays will focus on Writing and Speaking skills and Thursdays will focus on Reading and Listening Skills. Students will be learning material at a 6th grade Mandarin immersion level, using materials from Singapore and other supplemental resources. Homework: 20-30 minutes of reading and/or writing per session.

- Registration is due by September 5th, 2023 at the latest.
- Minimum enrollment requirement of 5 students to offer class.
- Full payment required to guarantee enrollment.
- No refunds or discounts for late enrollment, early withdrawal or missed classes.

The class will be led by an experienced teacher of intensive elementary- and middle school-aged Mandarin immersion program with several years of engaging and effective online teaching experience.   

Fees & Payment:
$1,800 per student per annual term.

If you prefer to pay via check, please make checks payable to German International School and mail checks to 3900 SW Murray Blvd, Beaverton, OR 97005,  writing " 23-24 Ch. Teen Class" and your student's name in the Memo Line.

Payment is due at the time of registration.
A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
