Leaders for Literacy is a club at Syosset High School that aims to fundraise and raise awareness for adult literacy. One of our projects is a monthly speaker series. On Sunday, October 4 @ 6PM, we are hosting our first speaker event through zoom. Fatma Ghailan, the assistant director of the Adult Learning Program for Queens Library, and Gary Beharry, the Library Literacy Center Manager for Queens Library, along with other Queens Public LIbrary personnel and adults who have participated in the program, will speak about their experiences and why we should implement an adult learning program here at Syosset!
