Mission Builders are volunteers who contribute their time in a variety of skilled and unskilled jobs our YWAM Te Ao Marama community, supporting our staff and serving our students. They are a vital part of community in fulfilling our mission and goals. Please read the following below for general information about volunteering here at Te Ao Marama.

Administration, Auto Maintenance, Carpentry, Construction, Drivers, Food Services (kitchen), General Labor, Groundskeeping, Hospitality,  Media and Communications, Painting, Plumbing, and Renovations.
Travel
Auckland International Airport (AKL) is the nearest airport. Transportation upon arrival and departure can be arranged with the campus.

Costs
Here are the costs to be a Mission Builder at YWAM Te Ao Marama.

When DTS is IN PROGRESS: $100 NZD/ week(covers accommodations and food)
When DTS is NOT in progress: $70 NZD/ week (covers ONLY accommodations. You have to provide for your own food)

This does not cover the cost of washing machines, dryers and personal expenses

Our DTS schools generally run from Feb~July and Aug~Dec but specific dates are subject to change.
*You will be notified if a DTS is in progress or not for the duration of your time here*

Mission Builders will also be able to participate in all base functions such as, worship and intercession times, Community Night Worship, our partnering ministries, family activities and fun nights, etc.
Medical
We don't require but HIGHLY RECOMMEND obtaining medical insurance. We advise that you check out www.talent-trust.com for travel medical insurance.
Documents
International applicants will need to bring their passports and may require a visitor visa to enter New Zealand. Some countries, such as USA and Canada, receive three month or more visitor visas upon arrival and are allowed to do volunteer work while in New Zealand. Please check if the country of your passport requires a visa for your duration of stay in New Zealand. All visa costs are NOT provided by YWAM Te Ao Marama and it is the applicants responsibility to apply for one.
Harae Mai! To the City of Sails!
YWAM Auckland Te Ao Marama is located in south Auckland; just 12 minutes (by car) from the airport and 25 minutes (by car) from the City Center. Auckland is a very diverse and multicultural city, while also being the home to the largest Polynesian population in the world. Having two major harbors surrounding the city, it is properly named the City of Sails. The landscape is surrounded by many bodies of water, includes many extinct volcanoes, and lives up to the name, Aotearoa (Maori name for New Zealand meaning land of the long white cloud), with its beautiful display of various clouds every day.

There are many different things to do in the Auckland area:
Beaches/ Waterfronts: Mission Bay, Long Bay, Piha, Eastern Beach, Bucklands Beach, Takapuna Beach, Mangere Bridge, Manukau Heads Lighthouse
Hiking: Mangere Mountain, Mt. Eden, Waitakere Ranges
Shopping: Auckland City Central, Sylvia Park, Westfield (Manukau). Daily Night Markets (Locations vary)


Public transportation is available, including the bus, train and ferry.

The weather is very unpredictable, as it can change during the course of the day. During our autumn (March~May) and winter (June~Aug) season the average high temperature is 17 C (63 F) and the average low is 11 C (51 C). During our spring (Sept~ Nov) and summer (Dec~Feb) seasons, the average high is 20 C (68 F) and the average low is 14 C (57 C).
