Join the Sussex Rent Strike
Students are coming together to withhold rent from the university because we're unhappy with how the University is treating students in halls during a pandemic.

We have five demands for the university:
1. Reduce rent by 40% for students that remain in halls.
2.  Allow students to exit their tenancy contracts without penalty.
3. Join students in lobbying national government for greater financial support for students.
4. No COVID job losses.
5. No disciplinary action for strikers.

Withholding rent is a powerful way to have tangible financial leverage over the university and force them to listen to our demands. However, we understand people might not feel comfortable committing to rent striking straight off.
