Oregon AFSCME Steward Training Registration

Oregon AFSCME Council 75 invites you to become a worksite leader, assist your coworkers, interpret your union contract and learn what steps to take to problem-solve workplace problems while enforcing your AFSCME contract.

AFSCME has two long-held beliefs; Stewards are the cornerstone of the union, and effective stewards build stronger unions. Stewards make the union visible to workers and management. Stewards facilitate communication, representation, and worker mobilization in the workplace. For these reasons, it's very important to become a steward to lead the members at your worksite, build recognition, and increase the strength of the union stakeholders.

By listening to the concerns of your co-workers and working together to develop solutions to workplace problems, you will work to cultivate credibility as a trusted communicator among coworkers and management alike--all while building union power!
