Wildfires are a threat to lives, homes, health, ecosystems and businesses. The WIFIRE Lab at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) is using the power of data science and artificial intelligence to better monitor, understand and manage wildfires. The WIFIRE Education and Community Outreach Program will engage San Diego educators, youth, and their families in the WIFIRE program by helping to understand the connection between wildfire patterns, as impacted by climate factors (e.g. drought, wind, floods), actions to incorporate resilient management strategies, and introduction to related career paths.
