If you're new to our school, welcome!
If you're returning--we're glad you'll be coming back!
RETURNING students AND siblings of returning students are given priority in enrollment IF this application is returned by February 29, 2024. Please fill out this form once for EACH STUDENT you want to enroll in MVCS for the 2024-2025 school year. This does not serve as your District #51 registration, which you will need to fill out in July.
- RETURNING students AND siblings of returning students are given priority in enrollment IF this application is returned by February 29, 2024.
- FULL-TIME students are given priority regardless of time stamp on form.
- PART-TIME students in grades 6-12 will be notified after May 1 if they are enrolled (based on space available in classes).
- If you have questions about the
details of how we prioritize enrollment and scheduling, please review the document, “MVCS (Grade 6-12) Enrollment and Scheduling Process” which
is taken from MVCS policy STU.100.5. We follow this process exactly ().
During the 23.24 school year, we piloted adding 6th grade to MVEP. Going forward, the decision has been made to discontinue that option. All 6th grade students will be enrolled in the MVCS portion of our school as full-time students or part-time students with two classes. Either option has classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If a student enrolls part-time, their two classes will be selected from the core subjects of English, math, science, and social studies. If there is space available in electives, we will allow part-time students to substitute an elective for a core class. If you are enrolling a 6th grade student, use the application form for MVCS (Grade 6-12) instead.
Grade 6-12 students are enrolled on either a full-time or part-time basis. If you enroll your student as full-time now and change your mind later to part-time, your child could lose his/her place in a CLASS if it does not have room for part-time students. In this event, we will work with you to select alternative classes. However, the best way to make sure your child gets specific classes is to enroll full-time (and not switch to part-time).
MVCS is a public charter school, serving students with
disabilities and English Learners and provides services to students as required
by state and federal law. Charter schools are subject to all federal and state
laws and constitutional provisions prohibiting discrimination on the basis of
disability, race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin,
religion, ancestry, need for special education services, and certain other
grounds. Laws applicable to students with disabilities include the Individuals
with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act
of 1973 (Section 504), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). MVCS enrollment is open to all students eligible
to enroll in a public school in Mesa County, Colorado.
Students who are enrolled at MVCS should plan to remain enrolled with our school for the entire school year. Switching schools mid-year causes educational disruption. If a
student chooses to return to another District school during the year, the
District may grant or withhold consent depending on such factors as the capacity of the receiving school and the best interests of the student.
